OVACIK AREA
Ovacik's location on the South Western Turkish coast means it benefits from a long summer season from mid April through to early November.
Ovacik/Hisaronu, Fethiye and Oludeniz are all found along what is known as the Turquoise or Lycian Coastline. These four popular locations provide a variety of attractions to cater for a wide range of ages and tastes in holidaymakers to this part of Turkey.
The Ovacik area provides access to one of the widest range of activities, excursions and sites of natural/historical interest that you are likely to find anywhere in the Mediterranean. For further information on the wide variety available, please visit the Activities page.
Turkish hospitality is renowned for being second to none with local people genuinely welcoming and happy to see you. Families are extremely well catered for in many bars and restaurants throughout the area.
GETTING ABOUT
The Sun Valley Apartments are located 400 yards from the main road that connects Fethiye to Oludeniz. On this main road you will find a few small hotels, restaurants and supermarkets (one of which will deliver groceries to your door). The Water Park is also found here, less than a ten minute walk from the apartment.
From this main road, transport by dolmus (public mini-bus) between Ovacik/Hisaronu, Oludeniz and the large Turkish town of Fethiye is considerably cheap and generally takes no longer than 10 minutes. These dolmuses run every five to ten minutes, over 18 hours a day.
Alternatively, there are numerous yellow 'taksis' operating in the area. These are not as cheap as dolmuses but, as with everything in Turkey, it's possible to haggle for a better price, especially if you continue to use the same driver during your stay.
However, a 10-15 minute walk will take you into the lively tourist resort of Hisaronu.
