The Ovacik area provides access to one of the widest range of activities, excursions and sites of natural/historical interest that you are likely to find anywhere in the Mediterranean. 

Some of these excursions include... the Dalyan River with its famous mud baths, Kaunos Rock Tombs, the deserted ‘Ghost Village’ of KayaKoy, Butterfly valley, the ancient city of Xanthos, Patara beach with its 18 km of beautiful white sand (home to the protected Loggerhead Turtle), the ancient fortress of Tlos and the Saklikent Gorge.

Ovacik marks the start of a very popular walking/trekking route along the historical Lycian Way. The Sunday Times chose the Lycian Way as one of the world's 10 best walks and Country Walking magazine chose it as 15th in the world's 50 greatest walks. For those not up to the full 509km, the first few kilometres offer beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
